Investment boosts Barrie startup as it gains momentum in hot SEO software sector

Toronto, July 27, 2010 – gShift Labs, the creator of a patent-pending SEO software system that is giving marketers better control over their organic search campaigns, today announced it has received $500,000 in seed financing from the Investment Accelerator Fund (IAF), a program that invests in eligible companies as they develop technologies and bring products or services to market.

The IAF supports the launch and development of innovative companies in Ontario’s priority sectors of advanced materials and manufacturing, information technology, cleantech and life sciences. The IAF is funded by the Government of Ontario and delivered by MaRS.

“gShift’s Web presence optimization software is game changing for marketers who want to get found online. Early stage software companies do a tremendous amount of research and development, so early seed funding like this from the IAF is critical to building momentum quickly,” says Krista LaRiviere, Founder and CEO, gShift Labs. “The entire team at IAF have been wonderful to work with, and it’s gratifying to have their strategic input as we work to make our SEO management software the industry standard.”

gShift’s Web Presence Optimizer™ provides marketers with an easy-to-use organic SEO management system that allows them to gain control of their entire web presence, including sites, blogs, press releases, social channels and analytics.

“The IAF is proud to support early-stage companies such as gShift Labs. They have a strong management team with past startup experience, a terrific product and have generated a lot of buzz in a hot sector,” says Barry Gekiere, IAF Managing Director. “The investment by IAF will help create high-value jobs in the Barrie area and additional spinoff benefits will contribute to Ontario’s innovation agenda.”
